Duo Romantis | Violin & Piano Duo
The Duo Romantis features violinist Öykü Melis Şahin and pianist Myra Pranajaya, two skilled musicians dedicated to the art of classical music.
Turkish violinist Öykü Melis Şahin, currently finishing her Master’s studies at the Sibelius Academy, has performed in numerous youth orchestras and festivals in Turkey, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Sicily, and Greece. In 2022, she was selected for Helsinki Philharmonic’s Apprenticeship program, where she had the opportunity to work with the orchestra members. Öykü has also been invited to perform in many other Finnish orchestras such as the Lahti Symphony Orchestra, Lohja City Orchestra, Lappenranta City Orchestra, Pori Sinfonietta, and Joensuu City Orchestra.
After obtaining her Master’s degree from the Sibelius Academy in 2022, Indonesian pianist Myra Pranajaya has been actively performing in concerts and festivals in Europe and Indonesia. In 2023, she performed as a soloist with the Jakarta Symphony Orchestra and was invited to
perform with the Chamber Music Society at Aula Simfonia Jakarta in the following year. In the past years, she has participated in many festivals, such as Euro Music Festival and Academy (Germany), MusicAlp International Music Academy (France), and the Summer Academy of Music in Uelzen (Germany), where she performed with the Wratislavia Chamber Orchestra.
While combining both musicians’ artistry, the Romantis Duo aims to create a captivating musical experience. Their diverse repertoire resonates with audiences, making each performance unique and engaging. Together, Öykü and Myra share their passion for music and continue to explore new artistic horizons.
