Júlia Arquillo & Saki Kono | Lied Duo

Júlia Arquillo and Saki Kono form a duo specializing in Lied, with extensive experience performing together. They have participated in a Schubertiade concert, competed in the Helsinki Lied Competition, and will take part in the Sibelius Lied Competition in Järvenpää in April. Their repertoire includes works by composers such as F. Liszt, R. Schumann, F. Schubert, C. Debussy, F. Poulenc, J. Sibelius, K. Saariaho, L. Larsen, and L. Bernstein, among others.
In addition to their expertise in Lied, both musicians have significant experience in the opera field. Júlia Arquillo holds two master’s degrees in opera, one from the Sibelius Academy, and has performed roles such as Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Pamina (The Magic Flute), Gilda (Rigoletto), Lucy (The Telephone), and Lisetta (La Gazzetta), among others. Saki Kono is completing her studies in Opera Coaching at the Sibelius Academy, specializing in vocal music while also studying harpsichord and organ. She has won several competition prizes, including the highest national award at the 21st Japan Classical Music Competition, and has worked as a répétiteur at the National Opera House in Helsinki.
